Only a believer would understand ( part 1)

By

There is something every believer feels but rarely speaks about:

the tension between Dunya and Akhirah.

We live in a world where everything is loud, shiny, demanding, urgent, yet the things that truly matter remain quiet, subtle, and eternal. In this clash, the heart becomes confused. We begin fearing the world while dreaming of the Hereafter. We plan for a future we may never see, yet we long for an eternal world we have not reached.

This is the story of every soul trying to survive Dunya while yearning for Akhirah.

1. Dunya Looks Big Only Because We See It Up Close

The world feels overwhelming because it is the only thing in front of our eyes.

But the truth is:

Dunya is a moment.

Akhirah is forever.

Yet we spend years worrying about:

  • Fear of people
  • job security
  • Stable money
  • how to appear successful
  • how to protect our families
  • how to survive heartbreak, pressure, or expectations

These worries are real. They exhaust the heart. But they are not signs of weak faith,

they are signs of being human.

2. Trusting Allah Doesn’t Mean You Never Fear

Many people assume that trust (tawakkul) means:

“No fear. No anxiety. No hesitation.”

But the Qur’an shows us otherwise.

Even the prophets felt fear.

Even the companions felt fear.

Even the righteous struggled with doubt.

The difference is:

They returned to Allah despite the fear.

Trust is not the absence of fear.

Trust is choosing Allah while being afraid.
